I saw, coming on the clouds of heaven, one like a son of man
I gazed into the visions of the night. And I saw, coming on the clouds of heaven, one like a son of man.
He came to the one of great age and was led into his presence.
On him was conferred sovereignty, glory and kingship,
and men of all peoples, nations and languages became his servants.
His sovereignty is an eternal sovereignty which shall never pass away,
nor will his empire ever be destroyed.
Psalm 92
The Lord is wonderful, he is wonderful on high.
The Lord is king with majesty enrobed,
the Lord has robed himself with might.
He has girded himself with power.
The Lord is wonderful, he is wonderful on high.
The Lord is king with majesty enrobed,
the Lord has robed himself with might.
He has girded himself with power.
The Lord is wonderful, he is wonderful on high.
The Lord is wonderful, he is wonderful on high.
The world you made firm, not to be moved..
Your throne has stood firm from of old.
From all eternity, O Lord, you are.
The Lord is wonderful, he is wonderful on high.
The Lord is wonderful, he is wonderful on high.

Jesus Christ has made us a line of kings and priests
Grace and peace to you from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the First-Born from the dead, the Ruler of the kings of the earth. He loves us and has washed away our sins with his blood, and made us a line of kings, priests to serve his God and Father; to him, then, be glory and power for ever and ever. Amen. It is he who is coming on the clouds; everyone will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the races of the earth will mourn over him. This is the truth. Amen. ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega’ says the Lord God, who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.
| Gospel Acclamation | Mk11:10 |
Alleluia, alleluia! Alleluia, alleluia!
I am the way, the truth and the life.
No-one can come to the Father except through me.
Alleluia, alleluia! Alleluia, alleluia!
| Gospel | John 18:33-37 © |
Yes, I am a king
‘Are you the king of the Jews?’ Pilate asked. Jesus replied, ‘Do you ask this of your own accord, or have others spoken to you about me?’ Pilate answered, ‘Am I a Jew? It is your own people and the chief priests who have handed you over to me: what have you done?’ Jesus replied, ‘Mine is not a kingdom of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my men would have fought to prevent my being surrendered to the Jews. But my kingdom is not of this kind.’ ‘So you are a king then?’ said Pilate. ‘It is you who say it’ answered Jesus. ‘Yes, I am a king. I was born for this, I came into the world for this: to bear witness to the truth; and all who are on the side of truth listen to my voice.’
The Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
At the words that follow, up to and including and became man, we bow.
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
& his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
&I look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
& the life of the world to come. Amen
Intercessions
Let’s renew our faith in Christ who came among us and who will dry the tears and heal the wounds of all the children of God when his kingdom of peace is fully established.

On Education Sunday we thank God for the great work done in schools and colleges and we pray for students, staff and families.
Lord, hear us
We pray that the efforts being made to care for creation and care for the poor may be sustained with increasing effectiveness.
Lord, hear us
We pray for those who are ill in mind or body, and for a sharing out of the vaccines needed to cope with the pandemic.

Lord, hear us
Preparation of the Gifts
Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring your love.
Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord. And where there’s doubt, true faith in you.
Make me a channel of your peace. Where there’s despair in life, let me bring hope.
Where there is darkness only light, and where there’s sadness only joy.
Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand, to be loved, as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
in giving to all men that we receive, and in dying that we’re born to eternal life.
St Andrew Sanctus,
