Ash Wednesday
In the name of the Father and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen.
‘the hour of God’s favour draws near,
the day of his mercy and of our salvation approaches:
death has been destroyed and eternal life begins.
At the start of Lent, we acknowledge that we are sinners.
As we express our sorrow,
we are so glad that
we can rely on God’s mercy and love for us’.
‘He will call to me
and I shall answer
with freedom and honour and length of days.
He will call to me.
