There was  a most successful gathering in Ibrox Parish
Church last Thursday as St Leo’s Parish,  Kinning Park
Parish and Ibrox Parish celebrated the annual ‘ecumenical
Christian Passover’ for 2011.  Rev Elizabeth Spence led us
through a service punctuated with hymns and psalms,
prayer, nibbles of Matzos and herbs and glasses of red
wine and together we achieved a sense of the ageless
ritual which we were celebrating.  It was both prayerful
and yet informally familial, evocative of the grandeur of the
history of salvation and at the same time warmly alive and of the present. The music began with ‘All people’ and included ‘The Canticle of Moses, the Taize ‘Jesus Remember me’
‘Behold the amazing gift of love’,  the chorus of ‘Blessed be God’ (Nazareth), and Crimond and
there was a lovely blessing taken from the 2nd century ‘Didache’ or ‘Teaching of the Twelve Apostles (as it is called)
