Intercessions
Let us pray for all who suffer as a result of conflict,
and ask that God may give us peace:
for the servicemen and women who have died in the violence of war,
each one remembered by and known to God; may God give peace.
Lord, hear us
For people everywhere whose lives are disfigured by war or terror,
calling to mind in penitence
the anger and hatreds of humanity; may God give peace.
Lord, hear us
For peacemakers and peacekeepers,
who seek to keep this world secure and free; may God give peace.
Lord, hear us
We pray for healing for people everywhere who are ill, anxious, or housebound within our families and community, including Teresa Kidd, Margaret McLean, Andrine Mansi, Fred Newman, Mary Clunie, Sean Fitzgerald, Ishbel MacMillan, Bessie Malane, Bill Harrison, Jack Rae, Fr Peter Dowling, Anne Judge, Thomas Boyle, Catherine Mulrine, Yvonne Watt, Rae McVey, John Gibson, Eleanor Reid, for those being treated in the local Hospice, and for all who support them. Lord, hear us

St Leo’s Day falls on Tuesday 10th November, and St Martin of Tours is on the 11th.
A prayer for the feast of St Leo:
Lord, remember your pilgrim church.
Let us rejoice in the good things of this world
but let us also have the shrewdness to recognise
that so many contemporary values are those of the corrupt Babylon.
Do not let us be drowned in shallowness
but rather be able to cherish the beauty of your creation.
and to look forward to the coming of your kingdom
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
