Intercessions 29th Sunday of the Year

For a deeper identification with Christ:
that the Church and each one of us may be  clear in our minds  that the example of
Christ shows that we should work at serving God and each other.   Lord, hear us

For all who exercise authority: that they may use their  authority
to support the gifts of others, free those who are unjustly  restrained,
and to lead others to wholeness and freedom. Lord, hear us

For all leaders of the church: that the Pope and the Bishops at the synod of Bishops in Rome
may be open to the Holy Spirit,
and may identify the problems, the challenges and opportunities of the age we live in.
Lord, hear us

For all who are oppressed: for refugees and those who suffer  from war
especially in the Holy Land, Syria  and the Middle East:
that God will inspire  people and nations to ease their burdens and offer them care and compassion.  Lord, hear us

For all who are ill, and for those who support and care for them:
Mary Connor,  Margaret Bell, Joe  Gallagher, Andy Williamson, Margaret Grimes,
Russel Collins, Ursula Glancy,  Kieran McDermott, Joseph Boyle, Margaret McCafferty,
Moira Montgomery, May  Conroy, Alan Hutcheson, Carol Gallagher, Jean Martin,
