For the Church:  that Advent may be a time when we grow in patience and strength,
with our eyes fixed on our goal, and on the coming Kingdom of God.

For all the local churches, Sherbrooke Mosspark, Kinning Park and Ibrox and the communities of faith:
that we may grow in mutual understanding and be more effective in working together for the common good.

For our country following the General Election.  That the political parties and our elected representatives may serve the needs of all our community.

For all who are ill, and for those who support and care for them: Dominic Gallagher, Patricia McDonald,   Eddie Grant, Anna Shearer, Michelle Hamlin, Margaret Grant, Jane Cameron, Bill Meechan,  John Gibson, Jack Rae, Irene Docherty, Lewis Harte, Ray McVey, Brian Gallagher, Kathleen Mallon, Anne Judge,  Yvonne Watt, and Joan Burns.  Lets pray also for Helen McGinley and the patients in the local Hospice, and for those who serve the community in the armed forces.

Carols for Peace – this Sunday 15th  3.00 p.m.  City Chambers

Council Representatives, Church Leaders and Glasgow Churches Together with Piper, St Mungo Singers, Rutherglen Salvation Army Band, St Denis’s School, South Side Fiddlers, the St Mungo Ensemble, including Harp and Whistle. Please join us at this annual event in the Banqueting Hall of Glasgow City Chambers, where we will sing & pray for peace in our world but particularly Bethlehem, our Twin City. refreshments afterwards.  There will  be a collection for the Lord Provost’s Fund for Children

(Morning Prayers ((‘Morning Prayer today comes  from Liz Crumlish of the Church of Scotland and is read by Robin Green and Christine Johnstone; and then by Gerry Fitzpatrick and by Annette Carachi of the Roman Catholic Church), school prayers ( this week A Morning Prayer for Advent from Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School with music by Catriona Glen), and Advent Evening and Night Prayers),  bible commentaries and news both in the morning and the evening.  Special items this week can be found daily  at 7.20 (and hourly till noon) as  ‘Canon Bob Hill comments  on the Gospel of the 4th Sunday of Advent, and we hear a short introduction to the daily readings from the Lectionary. Then  at 7.25 (and hourly) another Reflection on ‘Why Me’ by Liz Adam; .  At 7.30: (and hourly)  In our Magazine  Denis McBride continues with his introduction to  the Gospel of Matthew;  Ron Ferguson reflects on Advent; and Christine  Johnstone reads Profound Wisdom or Hate Speech – by the Very Rev John Chalmers in Life and Work; we hear of Human Trafficking in Tanzania – By Brother Elvis from The Missionaries of Africa,and we conclude with an Advent poem by Michael Martin.

The Lunchtime Hour (12.00) includes news, prayer with the Bereaved,  

The archive then lasts until 6.00 when we repeat the Lunchtime Hour.

The Evening Hour at 8.00 (repeated at 9.00 and 10.00) brings us Vespers, Magazine and Compline.  ‘Vespers this week are led by David Smith and by Michael Martin with  Grace Buckley  as Psalmist, the St Mungo Singers, Noel Donnelly as Harpist, with Jane McKenna and Jacqueline Barrett as organists.’
