For the Church:  each petition in the Lord’s Prayer comes from Jesus’s proclaiming that the Kingdom of God is already among us.

May we have the grace to say this prayer daily with faith and conviction.

Lord, hear us

For ourselves when we are overwhelmed by our own concerns, that we may see beyond ourselves to the needs of our neighbours.

Lord, hear us

We pray for peace especially just now in Syria, Aphganistan and the Yemen.

We remember our own country and  the European Union,  at this time of political uncertainty.

Lord, hear us.

For all who are ill, and for those who support and care for them:

Kathryn Barrett, Margaret Grant, Caitlin Laughed  Jane Cameron, Bill Meechan, John Gibson,  Irene Docherty,  Lewis Harte, Ray McVey, Brian Gallagher, Frank Kearney, Kathleen Mallon,  Anne Judge, Catriona Glen,  Yvonne Watt, and Joan Burns.

We pray also for the patients in the local Hospice.       Lord, hear us.

For our deceased relatives, friends & fellow-parishioners, including

May Murphy, Eileen McCorriston, Thomas Cawley, Sandy MacVarish, Michael Cain, John Dunne, Mary Duffy, Gerry Moran,  Anne Troy, John Clasper, Catherine Farmington, and Peggy MacMillan. We pray also for all those whose anniversary falls about now including Mary Feehan, Martin Harrison, Erna Harrison,  and  Patrick Gara. Let’s pray also for those killed or injured serving in the armed forces.   Lord, hear us

A new initiative following up on the St Mungo Festival in January. St Enoch’s Feastday on 18thJuly.    A nice sign of the times

THE gable-end image of St Enoch, which drew so much praise when it was unveiled last year was the focus of attention once more this month as July 18 is traditionally marked as her feast day.

On the day the women of Glasgow were invited to come and lay a flower or a bunch of flowers at the tomb of St Mungo in Glasgow Cathedral to celebrate the courage of his mother and remember Glasgow’s other patron.
