Intercessions:

For the Church: that we may listen to the voice of God, and have the courage to act upon it    Lord, hear us.

For all who are discerning God’s call: that they may have wisdom to know the voice of the Lord and courage to follow   Lord, hear us.

For our country and the European Union;  for peace in the Middle East and Africa;
for Venezuela:
 that fair and practical solutions may be found for the problems that face us.
 Lord, hear us.

We pray for the sick: for those who care for them, including Andrew McLean, Heather Franke, Margaret Browne, Mary Bradley, Patricia Loose, John Dunne, Frank Kierney, Anne Judge, Moira Montgomery, Margaret Bowen,  Joan Burns, Yvonne Watt, Anne Troy, and Catherine Gilbert. We pray for those whose lives are at risk as they serve the country in the armed forces.      Lord, hear us

We pray for our dead – including Frances Divers, Bridie Gallagher, Elizabeth McCaig, Betty McKinney, and May Scott. Lord, hear us

the morning hour at 7.00 o’clock is repeated every 60 minutes until 12 noon.

7.20: Canon Bob Hill looks ahead to next Sunday’s reading from Luke 6  17. 20-26 – the sermon on the plain,  and then we hear an introduction to the daily readings for the week of the 10th February 2019, taken from the Liturgical Calendar for Scotland.

7.30:  In our magazine, Jean Swinbank speaks of the Pope’s Letter for the ‘World Day of Prayer for the sick,’  the Rev Liz Adam gives us A Pastoral letter to Ministers by Rev Gareth Powell secretary of the Methodist Conference; then Carol Kelso talks about the Rosary in this week of the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes; Liz Adam returns with the visit of World Council of Churches Students at Bossey to Rome;  and from Vatican Media we hear of the historic joint Declaration signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.
