The Intercessions

For ourselves:    that Advent may be a time when we all become more aware of God’s presence in our lives,
and more conscious of the need to be good to our neighbours.. Lord, hear us

For all the churches and for people of faith everywhere:
that we may grow in mutual understanding and be more effective in working together for the common good. Lord, hear us

For leaders of the political parties: that, as they prepare for the Election,
their hearts may be awakened by God so that the needs for jobs, healthcare,
safety, education and general well-being  may be met for all in our country.  Lord, hear us

For all who are ill, and for those who support and care for them: Eddie Grant, Anna Shearer, Michelle Hamlin, Margaret Grant, Jane Cameron, Bill Meechan,  John Gibson, Jack Rae, Irene Docherty, Lewis Harte, Ray McVey, Brian Gallagher, Kathleen Mallon, Anne Judge,  Yvonne Watt, and Joan Burns.  Lets pray also for Helen McGinley and the patients in the local Hospice, and for those who serve the community in the armed forces.  Lord, hear us

For all those who were dear to us in life:
and those who have died recently including  Winifred Hart, John Ferguson, Michael Rigetti, John Feeley,  Tony Folan, Douglas Campbell, Will Gorman, Denise Bradley, and for those  whose anniversaries  fall at this time including John McVey,  Liam Brogan, Rosina Gara, Cecilia Harrison, Charlie Hamilton, Tommy and Anne McMahon and May McNulty.   Lord, hear us
