St Leo’s Walking Group celebrated the annual Mass for deceased members on 17th November,
and then walked to the Polish Club for a festive lunch.

Requiem Mass for Deceased Walking Group Members 2018

Walking Group members who are no longer with us:
Gerald Barry, Nicola Clare,  Sr. Pat Graham, David McCallum, John McVey and Leila Thomson.

How blest are those who have died in the Lord.
Let them rest from their labours,
Let them rest for their good works go with them,
For their good works go with them.
Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine on them
May they rest in peace.  May they rest  in peace.
May they rest in peace.  May they rest  in peace.

As we light our candle for peace we pray:

Lord,
We pray for peace in the Holy Land,
for Syria and all the other troubled countries
where people’s lives are spoiled or taken from them
by violence or war.
We pray for refugees,
and for generous hearts for those who need to show mercy.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

O God, come to our aid: O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son,
glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen.

Psalm 129     Come to me and I shall give you rest.

From the depths I call to you.  Listen, Lord, and hear my pleading.

Come to me and I shall give you rest.

Love and mercy flow from you, Lord of life and kind redeemer

Come to me and I shall give you rest.

In the dark I hope for you, you are light of new day dawning

Come to me and I shall give you rest.

Weak and frail we come to you, God of love and new beginning

Come to me and I shall give you rest.

Let us pray

God, you loved the world so much that you gave us your Son.
May you recognise the face of your Son
in our brothers and sisters who have gone before us –
see in them what you see in your Son.
Forgive, heal and transform them
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

We stand for the Collect

The reading

Gospel verse

Alleluia, alleluia. Alleluia, alleluia.
God loved the world so much He gave us his only Son
that all who believe in him may have eternal life
Alleluia, alleluia. Alleluia, alleluia.

The Gospel

Intercessions: ending with
May the souls of the faithful departed
Through the mercy of God rest in peace, rest in peace.

As we prepare the gifts

O Lord, hear my prayer, O Lord, hear my prayer,
when I call answer me.
O Lord, hear my prayer, O Lord, hear my prayer,
Come and listen to me.

Bellahouston Sanctus

Bellahouston Memorial

Agnus Dei

Communion
This is the bread come down from heaven;
Whoever eats of it will never die.
This is the cup of eternal life;
Whoever drinks of it will live for ever.

Verse of the Benedictus  (Verse 3)

God swore his oath to Abraham and Sarah,
to give us all our freedom from all fear;
to save each one from those who seek to harm them,
that we might serve in holiness of life,
that we might serve in justice and in truth,
our ev’ry day in presence of the Lord.

Blessing

May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm;
and may he lead us to eternal life.
