Glory to God in the highest, peace to his people, peace on earth.

Psalm 145:  Come and save us, Lord.

God is ever faithful, God is ever true.
Yahweh feeds the hungry, sets the prisoners free.

God brings light to darkness, raises up the low;
God protects the stranger, gives the weak his care.

Yahweh loves the just ones, thwarts the way of sin;
God will reign for ever, rule from age to age.

St Leo Fabric and Finance meeting: the contracts for electricity  and for gas  – in conjunction with the Archdiocese – are being sorted out. Our accounts for last year have been audited and are satisfactory.     A camera security system for the house is being examined and will be in place shortly.  The hall floor needs re-coated and this will be dealt with as soon as possible.   Maintenance Programme:   the committee is studying a method of systematic maintenance for the church and house.   We have an  offer of a maintenance contract for the roof.  The guttering on the church side of the house is still leaking in heavy rain.  The parish Golden Jubilee falls in 2012 – we need to consider how best to celebrate it – the church could be re-painted for then.   We need to organise a suitable receptacle for the Holy Oils – Baptism, the Sick and Holy Chrism – in the church.

Parish BBQ, Tombola and annual Tug-o-war will take place next week on the 13th September after 11.00 Mass.  If you have anything to offer for the Tombola or for a raffle the social committee will be very glad to accept it.  There is a large basket at the back of the church – in the porch.
