Funeral Maidie O’Hare

Maidie (Mary Patricia) O’Hare was born in Denistoun, Glasgow on 6th June 1917, and she died on the 5th February 2012
in St Joseph’s, Robroyston with the Little Sisters of the Poor..
She attended the Convent school in Dumfries and then Notre Dame High School in Glasgow,
(where she shared the individual sports champuionship at the 12th Annual Sports Day).
She became a Home Economics teacher and taught in some 14 schools throughout her long career.
One of her early memories was visiting Russia with her father, Dr O’Hare, where he acquired a beautiful cross and chalice
which Maidie treasured to the end of her life. Her funeral took place in St Leo’s, Dumbreck, where she had attended Mass daily since her retirement.

We pray for Maidie that God who gave her life, and, in baptism, the hope of eternal life,
will bring her to happiness and peace in the company of the saints.

for her friends,
for her companions at St Joseph’s, Robroyston,
and for all who those who love and mourn for her.

We pray that the faithfulness, devotion and patience
that Maidie showed
may encourage each of us to follow her example.

We pray for people throughout the world who live in pain or endure illness.
We pray for the doctors, the Little Sisters of the Poor,
and the staff at St Joseph’s,
who cared for Maidie, and
who do so much for those who are ill.
