Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you” (Jn 6:53) |
A new commandment I give unto you: that you love one another
as I have loved you, that you love one another, as I have loved you.
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples –
if you have love one for another.
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples –
if you have love one for another.
A new commandment I give unto you: that you love one another
As I have loved you, that you love one another, as I have loved you.
St Gregory Gloria:
Glory to God in the highest and peace to his people on earth.
Glory to God in the highest and peace to his people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly king, almighty God and Father, we worship you,
we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God,
you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
You are seated at the right hand of the Father, receive our prayer.
For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit
in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
The 1st Reading: Deuteronomy 8:2-3. 14-16
Psalm 115: The blessing-cup that we bless is a communion with Christ.
How can I repay the Lord for his goodness to me?
The cup of salvation I will raise, I will call on his name.
The blessing Cup that we bless is a communion with Christ.
Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his faithful.
Your servant, Lord, your servant I, You have loosened my bonds.
The blessing Cup that we bless is a communion with Christ.
A sacrifice of thanks I make to him, I will call on his name.
My vows to the Lord I will fulfill in the assembly of God.
The blessing Cup that we bless is a communion with Christ.
2nd reading 1 Corinthians 10: 16-17
Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. I am the way, the truth and the life.
No-one came come to the Father except through me. Alleluia, alleluia . . . . . . .
Gospel: John 6: 51-58

Lord, hear us
That we may have a deeper sense of the Church as the Body of Christ, gathered throughout the world
and in each community .
Lord, hear us

Preparation of Gifts: as people bring down the gifts of bread and wine we sing:
Seed, scattered and sown, wheat, gathered and grown,
bread, broken and shared as one, the Living Bread of God.
Vine, fruit of the land, wine, work of our hands.
One cup that is shared by all; the Living Cup, the Living Bread of God.
Is not the bread we break a sharing in our Lord? . . . . . . .
Communion:
This is the bread come down from heaven;
whoever eats of it will never die.
This is the cup of eternal life;
whoever drinks of it will live for ever.
O Godhead hid, devoutly I adore thee, who truly art within the forms before me;
to thee my heart I bow with bended knee, as failing quite in contemplating thee.
Sight, touch, and taste in thee are each deceived, the ear alone most safely is believed:
I believe all the Son of God has spoken; than truth’s own word there is no truer token.

There is a report on the web at stmungomusic.org.uk
The St Mungo Trail:
On June 21st, the longest day, The Lord Provost of Glasgow, the Archbishop and other representatives of the
churches and the city met representatives of Dumfries and Galloway Regional Council, archivists and historians
down at Hoddom near Ecclefechan and Annan to inaugurate the St Mungo Trail. Mungo spent several years at
Hoddom when he was exiled from Glasgow. The site is fascinating, beautiful, and well worth a visit.
Holidays: As the schools go on holiday, it is appropriate to thank teachers and all the staff for the attention and
care they give to children of the parish. Good wishes to families and children as they all start the holidays –
may we all be refreshed and renewed!
St Leo’s Jubilee Group met on Saturday 25th June. Many thanks to people who already are offering their support.

He wrote: “I would like to invite Christians, confidently and with an informed and responsible creativity, to join the network of relationships which the digital era has made possible. This is not simply to satisfy the desire to be present, but because this network is an integral part of human life.” If you use Facebook and/or Twitter please consider following the daily feeds from the Archdiocese –Both Facebook and Twitter feeds can be joined with one click – at no cost – from the Archdiocesan home page – www.rcag.org.uk
